Litigation Associate at Entertainment Lit Firm

The successful candidate will work an interesting and challenging caseload and have every opportunity to develop into a top-tier attorney while working in a collegial environment. Responsibilities: • Interviewing witnesses and clients to gather facts and information relevant to cases. Researching laws, statutes, regulations, and case law to prepare for trial or other court proceedings. • Drafting legal documents such as complaints, motions, briefs, and pleadings in accordance with applicable rules of procedure or evidence. • Preparing depositions and other discovery materials such as subpoenas, interrogatories, requests for admissions, and requests for production of documents. • Drafting settlement agreements based on input from clients and other attorneys. • Preparing legal documents for filing with courts or administrative agencies. • Drafting motions for summary judgment or other post-trial motions to dismiss a case. • Reviewing documents for legal sufficiency and helping draft responses to discovery requests from opposing counsel. • Preparing for and participating in depositions, settlement conferences, and other court proceedings. • Other duties as assigned by management. Requirements: • Must meet annual billable hours requirement of 1750 (subject to change). • Clerkship and major law firm experience preferred. • Excellent oral and written communication skills. • Experienced in all phases of discovery, including taking and defending depositions. • Participation in junior level on trial team.
