We are looking for a part time experienced person, who is semi-retired, with experience in construction management, budgeting, inspections and construction cost estimating working with a commercial general contractor, in all trades. Work involves visiting construction sites each month, meeting the construction team, review of contractor's payment applications, schedule, change orders, etc. Good written and verbal skills are needed. Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and computers is also needed. A degree in; Construction Management, Architecture or Civil Engineering is a plus. Prior experience as a Commercial Project Manager with a General Contractor and/or as an Estimator is very helpful. Ideal person will have over 30 years experience. Trades person need not apply. Qualifications. • Manufacturing, Industrial or Process Engineering experience. • Ability and desire to serve a variety of industrial markets (i.e., aerospace, space and defense, marine & transportation infrastructure, civil construction, etc.). • Experience in sales and cost estimating. • Experience in all facets of project management. • Experience with Autodesk 3-D modeling software. • Familiarity with welding and machining trades/metal fabrication. • Strong written communication skills, including experience with writing work instructions, procedures, and proposals. • Must have a positive attitude, commitment to meeting deadlines and be dependable. • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Specific Activities. Activities include but not limited to: • Estimate work and administer contracts. • Solicit quotes from subcontractors and suppliers. • Purchase materials. • Use Autodesk Inventor to create detailed 3D designs for complex projects, specifying dimensions and materials related to the project. • Communicate, consult with, and participate in design and manufacturing support. • Oversee scope and work with a team to manage schedule, cost, risks, and resources. • Lead project meetings and ensure fabrication is to technical documents, plans and specifications. Education and Experience. • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with a degree in engineering. • Four to ten years related experience and/or training in the fields of project management, construction management, engineering, and manufacturing design; or equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Work Location. Work is performed on-site. This position requires the employee to work onsite to collaborate effectively with multiple team members daily. Schedule. Monday-Friday Job Type.
