Senior Network Engineer – Long Beach Sierra Cybernetics is seeking a highly experienced Senior Network Engineer with 7+ years experience to work for us supporting our Port of Long Beach client to lead and manage critical network projects. The successful candidate will demonstrate expert-level proficiency in Cisco switching, routing, and voice technologies, as well as hands-on experience with modern Unified Threat Management (UTM) systems and next-generation firewall/security appliances. This role is pivotal in designing, deploying, and optimizing network infrastructure to support robust and secure operations across the organization. The position is expected to be approximately 9+ months or longer assignment. Fully onsite at the Port offices and data center in downtown Long Beach. Open to US citizens, green card holders, and H1-b visa holders. Education, Experience and Skills 1. Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or related field 2. Extensive background in Cisco switching, routing, and voice systems. 3. Proven experience in managing large-scale network projects and leading technical teams. 4. Hands-on expertise with modern UTM systems and next-generation firewall/security appliances. 5. Hands-on expertise with Network Access Control (NAC) systems. 6. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and project management skills. 7. Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders. 8. Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or higher (e.g., CCIE) is highly desirable 9. Relevant certifications in UTM or next-generation firewall technologies is desirable Duties and Responsibilities 1. Lead multiple network projects by providing strategic oversight and technical guidance from design through implementation and troubleshooting. 2. Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Cisco network equipment, including switches, routers, and voice systems. 3. Implement, maintain, and optimize modern UTM solutions and next-generation firewall appliances to safeguard network integrity and data security. 4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure network solutions align with organizational objectives and best practices. 5. Develop, document, and enforce network policies and procedures that promote operational excellence and security compliance. 6. Provide mentorship and technical leadership to junior network staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Database Technician supports Tribal participation in major infrastructure projects by overseeing database management, project coordination, and financial tracking under the supervision of the Project Manager.
