NEEDED: VOLUNTEER GUITAR INSTRUCTORS FOR YOUTH GUITAR CLASSES (petaluma)

Guitars Not Guns https://www.facebook.com/guitarsnotguns.sonoma ATTN. SONOMA COUNTY GUITARISTS: Are you interested in becoming a volunteer Guitar Instructor for a great nonprofit? We help protect at-risk and all childrens' lives through the joy of music, aiming to provide a healthy alternative to drugs, violence, addictive social media and video games, to help children build self-confidence. The Sonoma Chapter of Guitars Not Guns helps deliver the mission of this amazing international nonprofit which has been around for 25 years. We provide free guitar lessons and free instruments to at-risk youth in a classroom setting of up to 20-25 students. We currently have open positions for 3 more Guitar Instructors, and are are scheduled to begin our 8-week course at the Petaluma Regional Library, running eight consecutive weeks, Sundays 3-4 pm, from Sunday, Sept. 7th through Sunday, Oct. 26th. You'll be helping kids tune their guitars, guide the kids on fingering the open chords, getting a nice tone out of their instruments, and providing extra assistance to those kids needing extra attention. Even if you can only make a partial commitment, I encourage you to step forward because we need a pool of instructors. By providing free guitars and lessons we hope to engage their creative potential and help them achieve their dreams.
