It's time to start a new and rewarding career working as a Peer Support Specialist in the behavioral health field. Guaranteed 40 hour week with no over time required. Earn will you learn, This is a low stress work and life balanced position with a small non-profit and works in our Casa Grande wellness center. Hours: M-F 8am to 4pm or 9am to 5pm or 10pm to 6pm. Work in a drug free environment. The wage is $16.00 per hour with room for advancement. This Casa Grande entry level position offers a great opportunity to grow within this organization. You will be introduced to the expanding behavioral health field with an exciting company that offers excellent promotional opportunities to grow your income. Job Summary: The Behavioral Health trainee who becomes a Peer Support Specialist will provide: Quality wellness services to promote recovery and deliver the message that mental health recovery is not a remission or a miracle cure, but the process of living a fulfilling life despite illness and loss. The Behavioral Health trainee will receive training for and receive a Peer Support certification, as well as CPR and First Aid training and many more levels of programs to assistant our Wellness Center members. Additional training will also include wrap around services for our members in our housing program to assist them in achieving a variety of positive preferences and lifestyles. Minimum Qualifications / Experience: • Valid Arizona Driver’s License. • Clear a background investigation and drug test. • If in recovery, must have one year of stability. • Must be 21 years of age. Large Dog Handler/Kennel Cleaner Phoenix, Arizona Description: Dog Handler / Kennel Cleaners perform technical and routine animal care related duties involving cleaning and maintaining the kennel area and feeding the rescue animals. This includes leashing and walking/moving 30 large dogs (100+ lbs). Training will be provided. Please read the kennel cleaning description carefully; as part of the rescue, you will be exposed to varying temperatures, excessive noise, VERY large dogs, animal waste and cleaning chemicals. You'll also work alongside fun, passionate volunteers and experience the joy of helping rescue dogs find their forever homes! If you have what it takes for this challenging and rewarding position, we want to talk to you! This position is for an independent contractor (1099), supporting our mission to rescue and care for dogs in need. Essential Duties: The following is intended to describe the core functions of a Kennel cleaner. • Safely leash, walk and handle 100lb+ Large Dogs • Clean, disinfect and maintain animal runs and cages; and parts of the rescue facility. • Provide the feeding and watering/cleaning routine for the animals. • Demonstrate safe animal handling and restraint. • Create and maintain a safe environment for the rescue dogs, visitors, and workers. • Alert and report unsafe equipment or situations to volunteers. • Work with other volunteers to ethically achieve such goals and objectives. • Ensure compliance with safety procedures. Knowledge: Safety procedures for using equipment and cleaning chemicals. Safety procedures for interacting with large animals. Basic animal care, feeding and safe handling practices. Skills: Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with volunteers; communicating clearly and; following instructions. Assessing, prioritizing and completing multiple tasks and demands simultaneously. Identifying and utilizing the correct safety equipment when handling large animals. Physical Demands and Working Environment: Tasks are performed in both indoor and outdoor kennel area. This does require frequent standing, walking, bending and stooping. Requirements to perform a full range of motion with lifting and/or carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds. May be subject to animal bites and/or scratches and cleaning chemicals. You must be able to follow detailed procedures. This is a very physically demanding job.
