Cannon Industries, Inc. is a drug, smoke and alcohol free working environment. General Job Description: Sets up and operates all types of press brakes including AMADA RG100 with NC back gagging. Utilizes total length of brake and various tools to form shapes in sheet metal. Works closely with Plant Manager, management and others to accomplish corporate goals. Works with department supervisor with minimal supervision. A Brake Press Set-up / Operator (Class A) sets up new jobs and establishes tooling required while working with Quality Assurance. Plans and alters jobs to allow for maximum production. Helps to design tooling required for jobs. Understands output and the math related to achieve maximum efficiency. Able to set-up jobs by using form calculations. Helps to train both Class B and C level Brake Press employees. Minimum Qualification: Two - Five years experience operating and setting up press brakes for the sheet metal industry High school diploma or equivalent. Able to read and interpret the most complex drawings to produce acceptable parts (blue print reading Class II). Must have knowledge in GD&T tolerance Geometry is a plus Fluent in written and verbal English Must supply own tools Specific Duties: Set-up / Operate AMADA Brake Press for complex and simple production / prototypes Set-up Brake Press for operators at multiple work stations Organize work area and all tooling. Assist in design of special tooling and fixtures. Help Engineering to determine proper processing. Coordinate with programming to flat pattern layout. Gather, preset and install proper tooling and fixtures. Determine with Quality Control in-process inspection requirements, gauging and measuring devices. Run first piece and assure conformance to drawing. Inspect all parts as required by process sheet and drawings, using all types of precision measuring instruments, including coordinate measuring device. Document inspection data and procedures Check tooling wear and change as needed. Monitor at appropriate intervals production processes to insure continued part compliance. Suggest and assists in proper material handling and storage in the department Monitor production to ensure conformance with process sheet and time standards. Monitor machine maintenance for lubrication, guarding and cleanliness. Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated individual to be responsible for the efficient and accurate process of producing various rubber profiles from raw material with microwave or heated water curing. Heat Treat Operator
Job Title: Heat Treat Operator Furnaces: 4 Location: Warren MI Shift: 1st  Pay: 23.31 to start. Pay raises coming soon due to union negotiations Summary Will perform operations in the Heat Treat area as assigned. Essential Duties and Responsibilities ·         Conduct light duty maintenance, to have furnaces available for processing work orders (confined space work will be subcontracted to vendor base).  Maintenance includes maintaining flow scopes in good order and minor electrical trouble shooting and repairs – i.e replacing heating elements.  ·         Read work tickets generated in the lab  ·         Group parts to be processed together as permissible  ·         Make up loads to process in the furnaces, either manually or using a hoist  ·         Using a roller cart, transfer a tray with a basket of parts on it, to the furnaces and push the load into the furnaces.  ·         Set the furnace cycle, times, atmospheres and monitor the progress of each cycle in each furnace.  ·         When the cycle is completed, reverse the motions to unload parts back into the original containers.  ·         Copper plate small parts (i.e. retainers), through progressive tank dipping on the plating line and dip strip the copper when the cycle is completed.  ·         Charge and discharge the chromizing furnace once per day in the moor – this requires loosening and then retightening 8 bolts on each of the two chromizing furnaces.  ·         Maintaining appropriate documentation with each work order, such as signing off furnace processing charts.  ·         Occasionally putting parts into the -100 degree F. freezer.  ·         Shot peening of retainers  Requirements ENVIRONMENTAL CHEMICAL CONTACTS:                  In the Heat Treat Department, employees come in short duration contacts with the following chemicals:  ·         Quench oils, lubricating oils, tri-valent chrome (solid chrome), zirconium, ammonium iodide, hexavalent chromium (chromic acid), sulfuric acid, cupric sulfate, endothermic gas, natural gas, anhydrous ammonia.    Furnace elevated temperatures, up to 1750 degree F.    Critical Competencies Demonstrated mechanical aptitude Ability to understand and follow work instructions Basic computer skills in Microsoft Word & Excel ·         This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).  As a result, all applicants must be U.S. Persons within the meaning of ITAR.  ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e., Green Card Holder), Political Asylee, or Refugee. ·         This position is subject to policies and procedures set forth by the State Department and applicants who do not meet such requirements will not be eligible for the position. Starts at 1 week. It is actually “unpaid vacation” and they get the lump sum paid out mid-year.
