JOB SUMMARY This position operates machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, secondary equipment, and grinders, to machine metallic and nonmetallic workpieces by performing a variety of duties.   ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Machine setup, operation, and startup, restarting the machine, adjusts tooling to maintain proper sizes, replaces broken or worn tooling. Verify conformance of work piece to specifications, using measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and go-no-go gauges. Secures all tooling and instruments required; Positions and secures work piece in holding device, machine table, chuck, centers, or fixtures. Understand how to adjust work offsets and part zero. Understand how to adjust the speed and feed of the machine according to different part specifications. Observes daily preventative machine maintenance: proper coolant levels, filters, fan operation, cleans machines, etc. Responsible for loading tools, setting tool Diameters so that cutter radius compensation may be used. Understand how to install Workholding. Additional responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor may include department transfers to meet production needs. REQUIRED SKILLS / ATTRIBUTES Ability to recognize and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate effectively with supervisor and co-workers as needed. Ability to perform intermediate shop math skills and calculations: fraction conversions, divide, multiply, percentages, etc. Basic computer skills required to perform inquiry, data collection or input. Strong work ethic: Willing to work OT to meet tight deadlines as needed.   EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High school diploma or GED. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a CNC related field - set up experience preferred. Ability to quickly use the control panel to do offsets and edits on 2-3 of the FMS machinery. Tolerance: Ability to machine parts to +/- 0.0005” for diameter and +/- 0.001” for length. Ability to read and interpret GD&T blueprints to the needed specification in creating a part. Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.   PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS Regularly required to stand and reach the duration of shift, 8-10 hours. Occasionally required to walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or bend. Frequently required to perform repetitive or short-cycles work. Regularly lift, push, or pull up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Understands and observes all necessary safety procedures: safety glasses, shoes, ear protection, machine interlocks, lifting guidelines, etc. as designated in specific work area assigned. Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated individual to be responsible for the efficient and accurate process of producing various rubber profiles from raw material with microwave or heated water curing. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to best practices in machine operations, contributing to teamwork and respecting all policies as outlined in the employee handbook. Work Schedule: Monday-Wednesday, 7PM – 7AM Pay: $18.64 + $1 shift differential Requirements Monitor and verify the quality of the extruded profile. Ensure that the compound is entering the extruder continuously and smoothly. Ensure all dimensions are within product specifications. Trouble shoot extrusion process & interact with Maintenance in resolution of equipment problems. Make regular checks on the water level in the cooling tank and ensure that the profile is centered on the hot air tunnel belt. Ensure samples are available for the Q.C. Inspector and measurements are done to the specified frequencies. Pack or cut to the cut length specifications the extruded profile as instructed. Ensure printing and logo is correct and is in accordance with the drawing. Follow quality procedures, document, and record all required process control information. Must be eager to learn, excited to work on a team, and have good written and verbal communication skills Other duties as the need arises and/or assigned. Qualifications & Experience Must be 18 years of age or older. High School diploma or equivalent experience. Must be able to use or can be trained on various types of measuring tools related to our stamping and gasket manufacturing process. Demonstrates the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to read, write and comprehend sophisticated instructions, correspondence, and reports. Requires good mobility and involves considerable lifting (less than 35 lbs.), pulling, bending, standing and walking. Working conditions The incumbent in this role spends almost 100% of their time in the plant environment, which may involve varying degrees of physical labor such as standing and walking for long periods of time, lifting, pushing and pulling. Incumbent will use standard personal protective equipment such as, but not limited to, safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, and aprons. Job Title: Heat Treat Operator Furnaces: 4 Location: Warren MI Shift: 1st  Pay: 23.31 to start. Pay raises coming soon due to union negotiations Summary Will perform operations in the Heat Treat area as assigned. Essential Duties and Responsibilities ·         Conduct light duty maintenance, to have furnaces available for processing work orders (confined space work will be subcontracted to vendor base).  Maintenance includes maintaining flow scopes in good order and minor electrical trouble shooting and repairs – i.e replacing heating elements.  ·         Read work tickets generated in the lab  ·         Group parts to be processed together as permissible  ·         Make up loads to process in the furnaces, either manually or using a hoist  ·         Using a roller cart, transfer a tray with a basket of parts on it, to the furnaces and push the load into the furnaces.  ·         Set the furnace cycle, times, atmospheres and monitor the progress of each cycle in each furnace.  ·         When the cycle is completed, reverse the motions to unload parts back into the original containers.  ·         Copper plate small parts (i.e. retainers), through progressive tank dipping on the plating line and dip strip the copper when the cycle is completed.  ·         Charge and discharge the chromizing furnace once per day in the moor – this requires loosening and then retightening 8 bolts on each of the two chromizing furnaces.  ·         Maintaining appropriate documentation with each work order, such as signing off furnace processing charts.  ·         Occasionally putting parts into the -100 degree F. freezer.  ·         Shot peening of retainers  Requirements ENVIRONMENTAL CHEMICAL CONTACTS:                  In the Heat Treat Department, employees come in short duration contacts with the following chemicals:  ·         Quench oils, lubricating oils, tri-valent chrome (solid chrome), zirconium, ammonium iodide, hexavalent chromium (chromic acid), sulfuric acid, cupric sulfate, endothermic gas, natural gas, anhydrous ammonia.    Furnace elevated temperatures, up to 1750 degree F.    Critical Competencies Demonstrated mechanical aptitude Ability to understand and follow work instructions Basic computer skills in Microsoft Word & Excel ·         This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).  As a result, all applicants must be U.S. Persons within the meaning of ITAR.  ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e., Green Card Holder), Political Asylee, or Refugee. ·         This position is subject to policies and procedures set forth by the State Department and applicants who do not meet such requirements will not be eligible for the position. Starts at 1 week. It is actually “unpaid vacation” and they get the lump sum paid out mid-year.
