Ireland & Associates Surveying is looking to hire land surveying crews. We are an established land surveying company that is continuing to grow and looking for the right people to join us. We are currently hiring for: Field Crews-If you are looking for a full time position, we are hiring for both a party chief positions as well as rod man positions. You will work out of a company truck and full time positions are offered free medical insurance, 401K that is fully employer funded, profit sharing, dental, vision benefits as well as holidays and paid vacation time. Description: The Laser Tracker Operator is responsible for performing precision 3D measurements using laser tracking equipment to support manufacturing, assembly, quality assurance, and inspection processes. This role requires technical expertise in metrology, a strong understanding of engineering drawings. Pay Range: $45-$50 Hourly Requirements Duties and Responsibilities: Set up and operate laser tracker equipment (API) to capture high-precision 3D measurements. Perform alignment, assembly, and inspection tasks on mechanical parts, tools, fixtures, or large assemblies. Interpret GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) from blueprints and CAD models to ensure parts and assemblies meet requirements. Generate detailed measurement reports and communicate results with engineers, machinists, and quality personnel. Calibrate and maintain metrology equipment according to manufacturer and internal standards. Document procedures and best practices for repeatability and continuous improvement. Support quality assurance and production teams with first article inspections (FAI), in-process verification, and final inspection. Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required. 3-5 years of experience operating laser trackers. Familiarity with API laser tracker is preferred. Proficient in laser tracker software. Experience with Verisurf is a plus. Strong understanding of GD&T, blueprints, and 3D CAD files. Familiarity with aerospace standards is a plus. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a shop environment. Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and written/verbal communication. Skills Preferred Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs. Must be comfortable working in manufacturing, or clean room environments. Working Conditions: Primarily in a shop environment.
