Semi-trailer Mechanic & Tire Technician (San Francisco)

We are a small full service construction company in San Francisco. We are seeking an experienced carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate must have experience in concrete forming, framing and finish carpentry. Must be able to read plans and layout footing with minimal oversight. Must be able to manage and lead 2 junior carpenters and general laborers. Must have at least 5 years of experience with references. Must be able to complete work in a timely and safe manner, and have basic carpentry tools. Must have reliable transportation. Must have the following skills - leading a crew - reading plans - rebar tying and bending - concrete forming and bracing - structural framing - prepping framing for moment frame installation - stair construction and stringer prep - waterproofing (tyvek and blue skin) - window installation - door hanging - trim work (base, case and crown molding) Compensation based on experience

The Framing Foreman's responsibilities include but are not limited to assigning and explaining tasks to the project team, responding to clients requests and needs, and regularly inspecting work done by the project team to ensure that it conforms to plans and specifications. You must be able to be a team player and work with the project manager or Superintendent to meet production and quality goals. Foreman's Responsibilities • Understand and comprehend construction documents including building plans. • Communicating with employee's and clients in a respectful manner. • Calculating labor and materials as needed for field extra work orders. • Create and monitor project schedules. • Supervise carpenters and subcontractors • Performing all carpentry duties required, including both rough and finish carpentry. • Maintaining accurate records of all work done by the project team and keep daily records. Qualifications: • A minimum of five years of experience as a truck or heavy equipment mechanic. • Proven ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems. • Welding experience is preferred for minor repairs and fabrication. • Must own a complete set of hand tools. The company will provide specialized tools. • Ability to work independently and effectively manage time. • Willingness to work outdoors in various environmental conditions. • Must have acceptable driving record and be able to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL), which the company will fund.
