IN A NUTSHELL: This is a full time hourly position, joining the back-of-house team of our Wise Sons Deli in the Mission, reporting to the Kitchen Manager. Schedule (at the moment) Friday through Tuesday 2:30pm-9:00pm. Our ideal candidate has a minimum of 2 years experience working in professional kitchens, is passionate about food and cooking, and believes in giving guests the best experience possible. Line cooks are responsible for preparing and cooking all menu items and specials offered at their specific unit. Other responsibilities include executing catering orders, washing dishes, food prep, and maintaining a clean and organized work space. Teamwork is crucial to our organization and line cooks are expected to jump in wherever necessary to get the job done. This may mean working expo, bussing tables, or mopping the walk-in refrigerator. Must have: -1+ year in Bakery customer service ( experience in a French Bakery is a big plus ) -Food handlers required Right candidate is: - Familiar with POS System - Must be a team player with EXCELLENT customer service - Comfortable with running 7 to 8 hours shifts standing -Must be able to learn the production line of French pastries and follow the rules of the company -Multitasking by serving pastries, making coffees, charging customers (barista experience is a big plus!) -Refill packaging, beverages when needed -Answer phone, take phone and in store orders by paying attention to details - Occasional moderate to heavy (25-50 lb) lifting and carrying, bending and reaching overhead may be required. -Update inventory sheet - Able to maintain the highest standards of food presentation and sanitation - Must be a fast learner and operational in a minimum time - French speaking a plus but not required We offer one week of paid vacation after one year of seniority.
