Overview Accountable for the overall success of the day to day work of the service & engagement team. While this person can fill the role of a shift lead on duty, they have more responsibility that extends beyond just one shift. This position is in charge of executing the sales & marketing plan, training & supporting the service team, ensuring that inventory is available & merchandised properly, & that customers receive a fantastic service experience every time. Maintain communication between departments & locations. Train the front of house team to all service expectations using Common Good Resources & training recipes. Engage with the front of house staff to gain agreement on processes, then document & communicate. Assist schedulers to make sure there is proper coverage for both front & back of house. Continually audit current processes & ensure front of house staff are following procedure. Ensure that posted schedules are followed, & that team members arrive & finish shifts on time. Maintain items & menus in Toast POS per operational & marketing guidelines. Regularly inspect the premises for cleanliness & maintenance issues. Common Good Supervisory Duties Include: Serve as a shift lead - managing “air traffic control” for the team on shift. Responsible for on shift team supervision. Point person for emergencies. Engage peers & managers to bring issues to the surface & troubleshoot them. Address team member issues in the moment, give constructive feedback, & document occurrences to review with leadership teams. Maintain ServSafe Manager certification for food & alcohol. Ensure all team members are following food safety regulations regarding food preparation, storage, handling, & serving. Necessary Skills: Ability to stay organized & prioritize tasks. Ability to help team members stay organized & prioritize tasks. Servant Leadership. Excellent written & verbal communication skills; strong interpersonal skills. Ability to convey daily, weekly, & monthly expectations to team and management. Supervisory Responsibilities: The Retail Service Supervisor works with and reports to the Director of Service & Training to ensure that all company goals & objectives are inspiring & achievable for the team. You will spend roughly 20% of your time as a process manager & 80% of their time as a people manager. A good process that is followed by all sets expectations for the entire team & the person in this position will use our standard operating procedures as a guideline for giving kind & constructive feedback to other team members. Qualifications for the Job: To perform this job successfully, you must be able to perform each essential duty properly. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability you are required to possess. Education and / or Experience- At least 2 years of management experience in the hospitality industry Language Skills- Excellent written & verbal skills, and can clearly communicate complex information to a team of all ages. Mathematical Skills- Ability to calculate numbers & recognize patterns when analyzing data. Reasoning Ability- Ability to solve practical problems & deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to communicate issues accurately & thoroughly to all individuals involved. Physical Requirements: This position requires long periods of time being on your feet & may require lifting up to 50 pounds daily. Computer Skills - Comprehensive understanding of Google Suite & Toast POS are required for this position.
