Description

We are seeking a talented, passionate, innovative Pastry Chef to join our team and our mission. We are two women with significant experience who love food, wine, travel, fashion and FUN. We are creating a café + wine bar that will make a huge splash in our small yet bustling ski town where a local café (with premium coffee, fresh baked goods and a daytime buzz) does NOT exist. We are seeking our third "partner" to bring their expertise, vision and love of their culinary craft to the table, community and our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pastry preparation and baking, with a keen eye for detail and creativity, ideally with a Europe flair. This role involves producing high-quality pastries, desserts, breads and baked goods while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene. Responsibilities: • Prepare a variety of fresh croissants, baguettes, brioche, bread loaves, etc. and desserts. • Prepare artisanal breads and pastries with a European and artistic flair, ensuring visual appeal for customer satisfaction. • Package finished products for sale or distribution, ensuring freshness and presentation. • Assist in food production and preparation for restaurant service and special events. • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, adhering to food safety regulations. • Collaborate with team members to develop menus and ensure efficient kitchen operations and timely service. • Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, notifying management when reordering is necessary. Skills • Proven experience in pastry preparation and baking within a professional kitchen environment. • Strong pastry skills with an eye for detail and creativity. • Knowledge of food handling practices and food safety regulations. • Excellent knife skills for efficient food preparation. • Familiarity with food production processes in the culinary industry. • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment. • Strong customer service skills to engage with clients during special events or at the restaurant. • Previous experience in catering or restaurant settings is preferred but not mandatory.
