The role involves translating designs into functional, responsive, and efficient interfaces for new commercial technology product development. Candidates should have solid Linux/C++ experience and an eye for clean, user-friendly UI design. A portfolio (small or large) of past Qt/QML-based GUI is important. Background in embedded systems or firmware engineering is important. Guarantee adherence to security and compliance standards, including ISO27001, SOC2, and GDPR. Lead incident response efforts to troubleshoot and resolve production issues quickly. Perform post-incident analysis to identify root causes and potential workarounds/solutions. They were built with MS SQL, VB6, VB.NET, Visual Studio, Office 365, Excel etc. You will be working with another sr. developer. Additionally, you should be comfortable solving complex problems with limited assistance. The hours are flexible, normally Saturday (9 to ?) and various evenings (6 to ?) or other hours you are available. Sizeable VB6 system requires constant maintenance and eventual translation to .net. Many projects representing years of programming and development are available. You must be able to help design and create "on the fly" new projects and improve old ones. We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Linux Systems Engineer to maintain, optimize, and support our Linux-based infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Linux systems administration, performance tuning, automation, and troubleshooting in a large-scale, production environment.
