We are a small, local company - went from 1 truck to 4 (and even sometimes 5) trucks in a very short time. We have been building a great, fun team of people but are now looking for one more - especially heading into the busy holiday season. We are looking for someone to drive a 26 foot box truck (NON-CDL) to deliver and setup appliances, tvs and miscellaneous furniture/other items from Costco.com. No plumbing or electrical skills/background needed. Everything is fully on-the-job trainable, though we do need someone who is handy/mechanically-minded as well as being an experienced driver and a leader. You will need to be able to work with an iPad, know how to follow GPS and be good with communication and customer service/present well to the customers. Efficient, yet careful, is key. Please note that this is a physically demanding position! After your training period (at $175/min per day - training period length dependent on your experience and how quickly you learn our specific job), you will lead a team of 2 technicians (you being 1 of 2) to transport/deliver large heavy items such as refrigerators, washers/dryers, dishwashers, safes, sectionals etc on and off a box truck equipped with a lift gate using dolly, straps etc. A typical work day is anywhere from 8 to 10 hours (though it can be less or more any given day - load dependent) and you will work 4-5 days a week (Tuesday through Saturday) starting at 6am ... during the holiday season there will probably be opportunity to work extra days as well. This is an independent contractor 1099 (not W-2) position - meaning that you will technically be considered a subcontractor of ours not an employee of our company - so we will not withhold taxes (that will be up to you to do on your own). $225 per day after training period (plus any tips you may receive) - paid weekly and there will be opportunity to take days off if needed. Once hired, you will need to pass a DOT medical exam & dmv drug test as well as pass a background done by a third party. You will also need to have a clean driving record.
