I closed these with metal and seam sealer from inside leaving them exposed underneath to not hide anything. Trunk had a thick plate welded in the center to hold a battery. Mileage on odometer reads 38539 though I put less than 200 miles since completion. Never left out overnight nor driven on wet surface.
