Line Cook - Songbird Parlour About Us Songbird Parlour is a modern farm-to-table lounge and restaurant nestled in the heart of Sonoma Valley. We offer an unparalleled dining experience that celebrates the region's bounty while pushing gastronomic boundaries. Our menu features hyper-local ingredients sourced from nearby farms, creating a culinary haven that reflects the vibrancy and energy of today's Sonoma Valley. Job Overview We are seeking passionate and skilled Line Cooks to join our culinary team at Songbird Parlour. The ideal candidates will work under the guidance of our Executive Chef Miller McRae, and the Sous Chef to prepare and present our locally-inspired dishes with precision and creativity. Responsibilities - Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to restaurant recipes and standards - Maintain a clean and organized work station - Ensure food safety and sanitation practices are followed at all times - Assist in the preparation of daily specials and seasonal menu items - Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service operations - Properly store and rotate food items to minimize waste - Assist with inventory counts and stock rotation - Maintain knowledge of all menu items, including ingredients and potential allergens - Adapt to varying workloads and pace during peak hours - Communicate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house staff Qualifications - Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a professional kitchen setting - Strong knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen equipment - Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices - Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment - Excellent teamwork and communication skills - Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds - Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed - Passion for local, sustainable cuisine and farm-to-table concepts Preferred Qualifications - Culinary degree or relevant certifications - Experience working with farm-fresh, seasonal ingredients - Knowledge of wine pairing basics and Sonoma Valley culinary culture Schedule and Compensation - Full-time position, Wednesday through Sunday 3-10pm - Pay rate: $24-$26+ per hour, depending on experience Benefits package includes: - 75% employer-paid health insurance - 12 days Paid Time Off annually (PTO) - Discounted group rate for Anytime Fitness membership - 3 paid weeks off every three years to pursue professional development - 12 hours paid "skill swap" time annually for professional development
