Veneer Chip Transport, Inc. VCT is currently looking for safe and reliable Class A CDL truck drivers for our refuse fleet in the Kittitas County area. This team member is responsible for hauling refuse from Wenatchee, Cle Elum and Ellensburg to the Wenatchee Landfill. Scope of Work: Safely and efficiently transport refuse from several transfer station sites in the central Washington area to the Greater Wenatchee Landfill. At the landfill the team member will be required to wear the appropriate PPE attire and follow ALL Waste Management rules while onsite. The team member will back onto a tipper and unhook the trailer from the tractor. The tipper operator will then tip the trailer to unload the refuse. Once empty the VCT team member will connect the tractor and trailer, scale out and depart the landfill for the next dispatched location. ALL dispatch is done via company radio. Responsibilities: Perform DOT inspections to ensure that the equipment is safe to operate. Report any defects to the appropriate department. Follow direction from dispatch. Comply with ALL DOT regulations. (i.e., weight restrictions, rest breaks, etc.) Report any violations or citations immediately. Routes will be awarded by competitive bid to independent courier businesses who have an established driving business and operate their own commercially insured 26 foot box truck or sprinter van. Technicians travel to customer locations throughout Northwest Ohio and Southern Michigan for on-site repairs, preventative maintenance, installations, and diagnostics. This is a customer-facing role that requires technical knowledge, a professional attitude, and a commitment to providing exceptional service.
