PANAMA 66 Seeking Food Runner/Server (San Diego)
Panama 66 is the Bar and Restaurant in the Sculpture Garden of the San Diego Museum of Art in the center of Balboa Park. Brought to you by the folks at Blind Lady Ale House the bar features all local taps, California wine and a lively craft cocktail program. The food is all scratch made and mostly locally sourced. We believe that the greatest factor in the success of a business is the quality of its people. We strive to attract, hire, and train an extraordinary staff that is notable for its friendliness, intelligence, work ethic, empathy, and self-awareness. Please read all requirements and directions for applying. Runners MUST have EXPERIENCE running food in a busy establishment. Runners do a host of jobs: bus, run food, greet and host, run the register, and therefore are able to talk about food thoroughly and intelligently. The restaurant is all outdoors and so it's imperative you can handle the heat, the sun, the chilly and a busy floor. We also do a lot of special events, weddings, and parties and so if you have catering service experience, all the better. But this is not strictly that sort of job. Bonus points if you speak a foreign language! Tourists... we got 'em! Our staff is currently making $18 an hour plus tips that average $15-26 or more an hour, for a total of $33-40+ an hour. We are seeking a Runner to work part time but WEEKENDS are a MUST. If you have not seen our unique space, please check it out before applying. It is all outdoors. We repeat, it is all outdoors. There is a lot of walking, moving, hustling. Please email us your resume but you MUST INCLUDE a cover letter (can be simply in the body of an e-mail) explaining why you think you would be right for this position. Also let us know you read and understood this posting by confirming the days we need are the days you can work. Your resume must have dates you worked. Please do not drop off a resume unless it's truly a "drop off" — we are busy and cannot take the time to talk to you during service.
