Seeking Full-Time Activities Director for The Chalet Montara!
The Chalet Montara is a warm and welcoming assisted living community located in Montara, CA. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Activities Director to join our team. This full-time position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by enriching the daily lives of our residents through thoughtfully planned programs and activities.
Position Summary:
The Activities Director is responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementing a comprehensive program of recreational, educational, cultural, spiritual, and social activities for residents. The goal is to enhance quality of life, support independence, encourage participation, and meet the physical, emotional, and cognitive needs of all residents, including those with limited mobility or memory challenges.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and direct daily, weekly, and monthly activities programs for residents.
- Lead and facilitate group activities such as exercise classes, arts & crafts, music programs, games,trivia, storytelling, and social events.
- Coordinate special events, holiday celebrations, and community outings.
- Recruit, schedule, and supervise volunteers, guest speakers, and entertainers.
- Conduct one-on-one visits with residents who are homebound or unable to participate in group
activities.
- Communicate regularly with families, staff, and external partners to encourage participation and gather feedback.
- Promote a warm, positive, and inclusive environment for all residents.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs (activity supplies, chairs, etc.).
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and assist residents as needed.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays for special events.

Qualifications:
- Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, email) for calendars, reports, and communication.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse populations.
- Creative, organized, and enthusiastic with the ability to lead activities.
Preferable but not Necessary:
- Knowledge of recreational therapy principles, senior engagement strategies, and dementia-friendly programming.
Pay Rate:
$27/hour, Monday- Friday
