Mayo Studios is looking for an experienced 3D Artist to work with our New York City-based Imagemaking team on a freelance basis. Preferably work can be done on-site; but we also work with off-site personnel. Mayo is the premier creative production studio specializing in Imagemaking for home and lifestyle brands. With over 60 years of experience in photography production, Mayo serves a client base in the home and interiors industries including manufacturers, designers and retailers. Our growing 3D Visualization team seeks a multi-talented 3D Artist. You will collaborate with our studio team in order to create and refine 3D scenes featuring home and commercial interiors. Typical tasks will include: - Creating product models of furniture, props and home accessories - Modeling interior architecture - Modeling soft textiles (bedding, blankets, pillows, etc) - Creating detailed product models (typically refining existing STP files) in order to depict client products in as photo-real a style as possible - Lighting with a sensitivity to photo-realism - Creating animations to feature virtual spaces and products Experience should include: - Creating production-quality assets - Solid understanding of PBR material workflow - Understanding of high-to-low asset workflow - Understanding of good topology and edge-flow - Experience using GPU path-traced rendering engines like Cycles, Octane, Redshift - Training in interior design and/or photography a plus Software Experience in Blender is our preference. I own a wall art/branding business and I'm looking for a collaborative graphic designer to have as a resource. I don't have a job for you right now but will likely have many in the future. This is not a full or part time job. I will simply have cool projects that come up that I need help with from time to time. I'm looking for someone who has a job already, and won't rely in this for primary income. You will be in charge of setting the price with the customer, so I need to have faith in your ability to effectively and professionally communicate with the customer. Your fee for most jobs will likely be between $300-$1,500, but perhaps more depending on the client and scope of work. I will take 10% of your commission, but we can build that into the cost and pass it on to the customer. Attached are some examples of the type of designs you need to be able to create. In the image with the tree and green wall, it was actually 3D modeled and then rendered to achieve the 3D effect. You will have to create large .psb files, and ultimately a .tiff deliverable. I'm NOT looking for someone who is good at branding, ie logo's and stuff like that. I need someone who is a true digital artist. I'm NOT looking for someone who is good at free hand digital painting, sorry just not the style I'm looking for. You must be local in Colorado, Denver preferably.
