We have a growing machine shop that is looking for a tech to tear down our engines. Some experience with motors and motor builds preferred. We are a fast pace shop that is part of a large automotive speed shop we do custom builds for the automotive shop and other jobs for outside customers. We are looking for a hard working, self starter, who takes pride in their work and enjoys working as a team.

The job is to assist with all aspects of fabrication on the shop floor. Tasks include but not limited to: • Cutting metal parts • Laying out cutting lines • Fitting fabricated steel items • Using measuring tools to inspect work • Maintaining tools and equipment • Maintaining a safe workplace • Must be able to read, write and speak English • Position requires physical labor – must be able to lift (up to 100 pounds), pull, push, and bend. Some skills and abilities that a junior steel fabricator may need include: • Basic math and reading skills • Valid driver's license • Experience fitting and welding steel • High school diploma or GED certificate • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks Small family owned shop in Solana Beach

The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all on-site activities, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. Applicants must be proficient in creating and maintaining construction schedules, demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills, and possess the ability to proactively solve problems and motivate teams. Familiarity with construction management software and mobile apps is essential, along with the initiative to manage fast-paced projects and coordinate effectively with subcontractors, owners, and design teams.
