Responsibilities: General grounds-keeping maintenance to lawns, shrubs, trees, bedding plants, hardscape exterior surfaces, and playing fields (natural and synthetic) including but not limited to mowing, pruning, dead-heading, litter abatement, and weeding Responsible and safe application of fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides, including maintaining appropriate education levels and certifications as necessary or required Use, care, and maintenance of manual and power equipment including but not limited to tractors, mowers, clippers, edgers, and blowers Renewal of planted and hardscape landscape as directed including but not limited to site preparation, planting, transplanting, soil amending, and mulching Safe and responsible operation of vehicles in the execution of daily duties amid a densely crowded campus to transport materials, equipment, and fellow gardenersOperate and maintain manual and power equipment such as mowers, tractors, clippers, edgers, and blowers Inspection, maintenance, and repair of campus irrigation systems and replacement as directed mplementation of landscape designs from plans or as directed for new spaces created as a result of construction Daily observation of outdoor campus safety, reporting trip hazards, inadequate lighting conditions, and any other safety or hazard potential Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent Minimum of two years of gardening and landscape experience Knowledge of common trees, plants, turf maintenance, and pest control methods.
