Full Job Description
Field Operations Associate with Ko Hana Farms should expect to participate in a variety of hands-on tasks that support the beauty and upkeep of our Kunia showcase field and tasting room grounds. This position is labor-intensive, requires independence, and plays an important role in maintaining the guest-facing aspects of Ko Hana’s story.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Field maintenance (weeding, irrigation upkeep, mowing, trimming, etc.).
· Landscaping and upkeep of the tasting room grounds.
· Minor handy work and general repairs as needed.
· Preparing the Kunia field to serve as a weekly showpiece for tours.
· Communicating with the farm and front-of-house teams to coordinate needs.
· Working independently with minimal supervision.
About the Farms
Ko Hana Farms serves as the primary producer of Heirloom Hawaiian Sugarcane for Ko Hana Distillers. Currently operating on approximately 1,000 acres split between Kunia, Haleiwa and Waialua, HI, Ko Hana Farms grows 34 distinct Hawaiian varietals of sugarcane that are destined to be transformed into the finest Hawaiian Agricole Rum. The Kunia field is a 20-acre showcase location where visitors regularly tour and learn about our heritage.
Expected Pay
$21.00/hr
Minimum Requirements
· Valid US state driver license
· Prior experience in landscaping, farming, or related outdoor labor
· Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with other team members
· Reliable transportation
· Authorized to work in the US
Preferred Qualifications
· Landscaping or groundskeeping experience
· Basic irrigation or farm maintenance skills
· Handy/maintenance skills for light repairs
· Previous agricultural experience in sugarcane, tropical crops, or nursery work
Other Associated Factors
· May need to lift, pull, or push 50+ pounds and stand for long hours.
· Must be capable of sitting, squatting, standing, kneeling, bending, or walking throughout the workday.
· Maintain clean, sanitary, and organized work areas.
· Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
· Actively involved in Workplace Safety in a farm and guest-facing setting.
· Ability to deal with problems and resolve them in a professional manner.
Working Conditions
Primarily outdoors in all types of weather, with occasional light support in tasting room/ground areas.
Work Hours
Monday through Friday, early hours to midafternoon; 40 hours per week.
