Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Park Maintenance Supervisor and/or Lead Maintenance Specialist in assigned Park District, this position is responsible for learning and performing the various skills that are associated with all aspects of park maintenance, including turf, irrigation, shrub and tree care, and facility maintenance with accepted maintenance practices for developed parks. May be required to work weekends, evenings, holidays, and be on snow watch as well as work shifts deviating from this position’s normal work days and/or with other work groups. Essential Duties: • Performs all cultural maintenance practices inherent to maintaining irrigated turf grass parks including mowing, aeration, fertilization, and irrigation. • Assists in maintenance of tree and shrub care, including plantings, removals, weed/pest control, pruning, and shrub bed maintenance. • Perform trash and recyclables removal operations.
