This company works fire season. Its already started, usually starts in June and goes until Oct. Fire season is lasting longer every year, in total about 6 months. It may end in Novemeber or December, depending on how the season goes. Last year one of the helicopters was out until Feb 15, on the LA fire. We need CDL A drivers with tanker and hazmat. We are out all season, but the money adds up nicely. We get perdiem, hotels paid for and a rental car for our 2 reset days. We work 12 and 2s, and travel with the team all season. Its a great job if you are an outdoorsie person, we sit at bases a lot on standby, and like traveling and a little adventure, and dont mind living out of a suitcase for a few months. The best part is that you save money all season and at the end you have a nice nest egg. Just being straight up about the job. Its a great gig for the right person.
