Position Summary The Barista is responsible for preparing and serving exceptional coffee, tea, and specialty beverages with consistency and care. This role includes engaging with guests, maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the café, and supporting a team culture rooted in respect, communication, and pride of work. Key Responsibilities • Prepare and serve espresso-based drinks, cold brews, teas, and signature beverages (such as Kopi Avocado and Gula Aren Latte) according to Kopi Bar standards. • Provide warm, professional, and genuine hospitality to every guest. • Maintain knowledge of the menu, including coffee origins, brewing methods, and pastry selections. • Operate coffee equipment safely and keep stations clean and organized. • Restock supplies and assist with daily opening and closing duties. • Handle POS transactions accurately. • Follow all sanitation, food handling, and safety protocols. • Communicate clearly with fellow team members and management to ensure smooth operations. • Participate in team meetings, tastings, and ongoing training sessions. Qualifications • Prior barista or specialty coffee experience preferred but not required — passion and willingness to learn are essential. • Strong communication and customer service skills. • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. • Positive attitude and collaborative team spirit. • Must be punctual, dependable, and able to follow instructions. • Food Handler’s Certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire). Physical Requirements • Must be able to stand for extended periods. • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and move quickly behind the bar. • Comfortable working in a fast-paced café setting.
