The mission of the Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribal Department of Public Safety is to protect life and property, maintain order, investigate crimes, enforce all applicable laws and ordinances, protect natural resources, enforce Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribal Fishing, Hunting, and Forest codes, investigate violations, arrest and issue citations on violators within the boundaries of the Port Gamble S’Klallam Reservation and within the boundaries of the Point No Point Treaty Area. The Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe, originally known as the Nux Sklai Yem or The Strong People, are descendants of the Salish peoples with ancestral ties to the Kitsap Peninsula that date back at least 1,000 years. This is a department administrative position. The employee occupying this position is responsible for providing administrative support to department operations, statistical data updating, maintaining maintenance records, arranging for maintenance services for all equipment, court records data, and maintaining court document service logs. Qualifications & Requirements: 👻Education: High School Diploma, or GED required. Associates Degree Required. 👻Experience: 3-5 years experience as an Administrative Assistant or Office Manager. 👻Background Investigation: Must have successfully passed a criminal background investigation, must have no felony convictions, must have no violations of Domestic Violence, must have no misdemeanor convictions within the past three (3) years, must not have been convicted of any crime involving moral turpitude, or convicted of any crime that would compromise their integrity or credibility. 👻Must successfully complete a psychological and polygraph examination. 👻First Aid/CPR Certification: Must be currently certified in Basic First Aid and CPR or be certified within thirty (30) days of appointment. 👻Personal Computer Skills: Basic personal computer skills are required, able to use word processing, Microsoft word, spreadsheets, and able to learn other related software used by the department. 👻Drug Testing: The Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe is a “Drug Free Workplace” environment.
