Plentiful Kitchen is a meal delivery service based in West Berkeley. We specialize in creating gluten-free, dairy-free, wholesome meals made from seasonal ingredients, with intention and care. Our mission is simple yet powerful: to nourish our clients with food that supports healing, energy, and ease. We’re seeking a highly experienced and confident Sous Chef (or Chef de Cuisine level) to help lead our small but mighty team. This is a unique opportunity for someone who thrives in a professional kitchen, is detail-oriented, and cares deeply about food as medicine. Responsibilities Support the Head Chef with production, prep, and execution of weekly menus Follow recipes and prep lists with accuracy and consistency Handle grocery shopping and ingredient sourcing as needed Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized kitchen (we operate with a low-waste mindset) Assist with inventory management and proper food storage Ensure all meals meet allergen-free standards (gluten-free, dairy-free, refined sugar-free) Step into a lead role when the Head Chef is unavailable Requirements: Minimum 4 years professional kitchen experience (meal prep, catering, or high-volume preferred) Culinary degree or formal training Current ServSafe certification Strong knife skills, ingredient knowledge, and familiarity with special diets Ability to work efficiently under pressure, both independently and as part of a team Attention to detail, consistency focus and cleanliness Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Schedule: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday Commercial kitchen in West Berkeley 28-30 hours a week How to Apply: Please send your resume along with a short cover letter to ibenami310@gmail.com.
