POSITION DETAILS: Recipients of this bellman / valet position will have a strong desire to be guest focused with a willingness to please and exceed the expectations of our guests. Recipients must be caring, friendly, and hospitable with the ability to make positive and memorable interactions and connections with each of their guests. Recipient of this position will be selected with the understanding that they will be the first impression for all of our hotel and dining guests. Recipients of this position must be a quick-stepped, energetic and an enthusiastic greeter of guests upon their arrival to the front entrance of the Market Pavilion Hotel. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: The Bellman / Valet greets arriving guests at the hotel's front door and assists with hotel check-ins and check-outs as well as dining valet for our two restaurants, Grill 225 and Pavilion Bar. Bellman / Valet assist guests with exiting their vehicles by and will assist guests with luggage handling at the time of arrival and at the check-in process. Bellman / Valet will be responsible for escorting hotel guests into the property upon arrival and assisting with the check-in process at the guest services check-in desk. Bellman / Valet is responsible for luggage delivery to the guest's room, and with orienting the guests with the features and functions of their guest room. Bellman / Valet will be responsible for attending to the needs of hotel guests throughout the duration of their stay upon request. Bellman / Valet assists guests with the check-out process by handling the guest's luggage upon request, then loading their vehicle for departure. Bellman / Valet is responsible for ensuring that the guest's departure is smooth, warm and hospitable. Bellman / Valet will be required to perform all functions of their job to a high luxury standard. The recipient will be extensively trained to ensure that they are professionally exceeding the expectations of our guests. Recipients of this position will be required to drive guest vehicles. All applicants must have a good driving record and must have the ability to operate vehicles with care and competency to maintain their position in good standing. SCHEDULE FLEXIBILITY: This position requires the individual to have good schedule flexibility with the ability to work weekdays, weekends, occasional holidays morning, afternoon and evening hours. Full-time applicants with wide-ranging schedule flexibility will be given first consideration for this Bellman / Valet position. The Various Bellman \ Valet shifts available are as follows: Morning: 6:30am or 7am - 3pm (1st Shift) Afternoon: 4pm -12am (2nd Shift) Evening: 5:45pm - 2am (2nd - Late Shift) HOURLY PAY AND GRATUITIES: Recipients will be provided base hourly pay. Additional earnings are based on gratuities provide by the guests at their discretion. The level of gratuities received are performance based and are contingent upon the Bellman / valet's ability to perform their job well and to provide meaningful and courteous guest interactions. Gratuities are based solely on the discretion of the guest. Gratuities provided by guests are a significant portion of a bellman's earnings. While not guaranteed, on average our hotel bellman / valet staff members who have the ability to make hospitable connections with their guests can be expected to make an hourly up to - $50.00+ per hour during high business demands. An eligible candidate who successfully passes the drug screening test at our approved testing facility will then be provided a Passing Certificate of Documentation.
