We are seeking a very loving, professional female caregiver located in Palm Springs or nearby cities. Experience with elderly care is required. We are looking for someone who will treat and care for the patient as though she were your own family. PLEASE NOTE: Male caregivers or altered transgender persons cannot be considered, as the patient is female. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Alzheimer’s, dementia, memory loss Stroke, chronic illness, or disease Injuries and post-hospital recovery Diabetes, bed sores, incontinence Personal hygiene care, bathing, and clean-up Changing bed linens and laundry Administering medications on time Checking and recording vital signs Meal preparation, kitchen maintenance, and basic cleaning Patient observation, companionship, and loving care Must be able to compassionately redirect the patient when confused or acting on incorrect beliefs. Preferred but not required experience: Cancer care, disabilities, mental impairment, hospital stays, end-of-life care, immobility. REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS: CPR, AED/BLS, and First Aid. Proof of current certification is required. TRANSPORTATION REQUIREMENTS: You must have a very dependable car for transporting the patient to appointments, restaurants, church and other outings – often daily. Your vehicle must: Be very easy for the patient to enter and exit Have proper seat belt securing Be comfortable for the patient during trips Have dependable, working air conditioning Be in good mechanical condition with good tires Have current, adequate insurance coverage Driving during shifts is compensated. Please include in your response: Year, make, and model of your vehicle Current mileage Any known mechanical issues WORK SCHEDULE & FLEXIBILITY: Typical shifts are 12 hours Occasionally 24–48 hour shifts when needed Must be able and willing to stay overnight on duty when needed Schedule can vary weekly – flexibility is essential Must coordinate well with other caregivers This is a private contractor position (not employment) Weekly compensation is only discussed in person PATIENT INFORMATION: The patient is an elderly woman, mobile and ambulatory, living in her own home. You will provide one-on-one care and must be able to work independently. Contacting supervisor only as needed. Lifting is not currently required but may be needed in the future. Weekly scheduling will be based on mutual agreement. LOCATION: The patient lives in Palm Springs. Preferred applicants live in Palm Springs or near Palm Springs or in areas nearby, which can include: Moreno Valley, Calimesa, Beaumont, Morongo Valley, Joshua Tree, Desert Hot Springs, Indio, Mecca, La Quinta – or within a one-hour drive.
