SUMMARY: Provides service and maintenance for all aspects of mechanical operations and heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning (HVAC) and refrigeration equipment in support the University mission. QUALIFICATIONS: Strong verbal communication and listening skills Maintains a high degree of professionalism Highly thorough and dependable Working knowledge and ability to use the International Mechanical Code and perform work in accordance with IMC Ability to use tools, meters, gauges and equipment correctly and safely Welding and/or soldering skills Ability to read and understand schematic diagrams, and troubleshoot and repair problems of varied types Understand basic chemistry, electrical basics, steam and water heating fundamentals, and HVAC & refrigeration basic cycles and principles Knowledge of procedures for safe refrigerant and chemical handling Working knowledge of OSHA regulations pertaining to work performed Refrigerant Handling Certification (Universal preferred), upon hire Required: Must have a valid Driver's License and be able to produce a driving record with a minimum of 3 years of driving history in good standing EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: H.S.
