I'm an early 40s gal who uses a power wheelchair seeking multiple fabulous people to join my team of Personal Care Assistants! Various hours available around-the-clock with mostly part-time hours. Some weekends and holidays required. I’m located one mile from the U of M, an easy commute from metro area colleges and universities. College students may be eligible for a $4500 bonus. Applicants must have a clean criminal background, be a non-smoker, have a current driver’s license and have the ability to comfortably and independently lift 85lbs.

Female PCA needed ASAP for a male who is wheelchair bound. Needs help with toileting, showering, dressing, cooking, cleaning. He uses a hoyer lift for all transfers. Weekday and weekend PCA’s needed for independent male quadriplegic because of a spinal cord injury. My long-term live-in weekday PCA is moving on after 10 years and he is going to sunny warm Arizona. My weekend PCA is also moving on for other commitments. I’m an easy-going guy and I work full time from home during the week. I enjoy TV, movies, and getting out of the house on weekends. I have good use of my arms, use a power wheelchair for mobility, and have a modified van that I drive myself. Duties Training will be provided. You would be working in my private home. Duties include dressing assistance, bathroom assistance, range-of-motion exercises, meal preparation, laundry, grocery shopping, and light cleaning. Candidate must be able to provide a safe transfer to and from wheelchair. I’m 5’ 11” and weigh about 130 pounds. I have good arm strength so I’m able to hold on for the transfer. Area Roseville, MN Shift Monday thru Friday mornings start as early as 6:30 for 4 hours. Monday thru Friday evenings are a little flexible but generally 7 to 11. Weekends are more flexible but generally start at 9:00am for 4 hours and 7 to 11pm. There is a possibility for a live-in situation after a trial period to see if we’re compatible. I do have extra bedrooms and bathroom if it is easier for the PCA to spend the night. Qualifications A responsible, honest and trustworthy person with reliable transportation required. The closest mainline bus route is about a mile away. Candidates must speak fluent English, be 18 years or older and pass a DHS (MN Department of Human Services) background check. Pay $20.00 to $24.00 per hour, paid through an agency.

Applicants should be comfortable assisting with activities of daily living, including but not limited to, the following: Standing pivot and hoyer lift transfers, dressing, grooming, bathing and meal preparation, as well as assistance in the community, including regular assistance with one on one swimming. This is a full-time position.(40 hrs per week). Exact hours and schedule are negotiable. Candidates must be punctual, good communicators and be able to manage child care and other responsibilities in a way that they do not frequently interfere with a regularly set schedule. In need of overnights and early mornings as well as weekend day shifts. Must be able to transport client in client's vehicle, be comfortable assisting client in swimming and other recreational activities and work related activities.
