We’re Treeswift (treeswift.com), an NYC-based startup building AI-powered systems for utility fieldwork. Treeswift is revolutionizing decision-making for critical energy infrastructure in the face of rising threats like severe storms and wildfires. In the U.S. alone, hundreds of thousands of miles of transmission lines and millions of miles of distribution lines need to be carefully monitored and maintained to reduce hazards. The largest of these hazards is interaction with vegetation that can cause outages or fires. With the rapid growth of renewable energy this infrastructure footprint is expected to more than double in the coming years creating more assets to defend than ever before. Treeswift’s mission is to deliver scalable technology to manage large-scale distributed infrastructure, starting with managing the risks posed by vegetation to power lines and extending to asset management, construction planning, and disaster recovery. We deliver transformative impact to our customers by innovating across the technical stack. LiDAR and imagery data is collected by sensor packs mounted on backpacks and vehicles that seamlessly integrate into customer operations. We then deploy AI to transform raw data into actionable analytics delivered to decision-makers in our software platform. After just a year and a half since our first utility pilot we are working with three of the five largest utilities in the United States and rapidly expanding our footprint across new customers and use cases. We’re hiring detail-oriented contractors to help us annotate and QA our data. You’ll be reviewing LiDAR and image datasets, flagging errors, tagging wires, and helping us ensure data quality for utility customers. The work: • Annotate 3D wire spans using internal tools (no prior experience needed) • Identify and report distortions, doubling, or classification errors in point cloud data • Collaborate in Slack with a tight-knit team of engineers, QA leads, and field techs • Follow project priorities (you’ll be working on real deliverables for utilities across the country) What we’re looking for: • Sharp eyes and comfort working solo on focused, repetitive tasks • Strong attention to visual detail, like noticing if a wire is bending unnaturally or disappearing • Familiarity with Google Sheets / Airtable is a plus • You’re dependable and can follow through on deadlines with minimal oversight • No technical background required; training provided Details: • $25/hour • In person at our Financial District office 5 days / week. 40 hrs/week preferred. • Paid bi-weekly Work is project-based, with steady flow through the rest of the year If you’re curious, dependable, and ready to work with your hands, email us with: • Your name and contact info • Subject line: Data Annotation Contractor - [Your Name] • A sentence or two about your attention to detail (past roles, side projects, or hobbies welcome) It's okay if this is your first experience! • When you can start and your preferred schedule
