Requirements - Must have a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License - Must be 23 years of age or older (for insurance requirements) - Previous OTR experience - Must have a minimum of Two (2) years of verifiable driving experience with a Class "A" CDL - Motor vehicle record may not show any Alcohol/Drug related convictions within the previous 5 years. This will include Alcohol related convictions which have been plead to a lesser charge such as careless driving. - Employment history with no more than 5 carriers over the past 3 years - Have a MVR with no more than 1 violation within the last 3 years - Your MVR must not have any revocations or suspensions on record - Your MVR must have no accidents within 3 years - Must be comfortable driving in all 48 states - Must have a clean criminal record and any dismissed cases must have supporting court-rendered documentation - Possess good truck maneuvering skills - Takes pride in your truck and keep it clean - General truck maintenance knowledge is a Plus - Must have a positive attitude - Must be responsible to handle time sensitive schedules - Must hold a current DOT physical certificate. - Must pass a pre–employment drug screen. Forest Lake Area School District is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of School Bus Mechanic to join our Transportation Department. Your Role Will Include: Diagnose vehicle problems based on driver complaints and inspections. Perform repair work with efficiency and accuracy in accordance with state and factory standards. Communicate with the Shop Foreman to obtain necessary parts. Inspect vehicles to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended. Report immediately to the Shop Foreman if additional work is needed, repairs are unnecessary, or repairs cannot be completed within the promised timeframe. Conduct road tests when required and refer unresolved issues to the Shop Foreman. Participate in training programs, school expectations, and district events. Perform other duties as assigned by the Shop Foreman. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. 2+ years of experience or training in diesel or auto repair, or equivalent education, including hands-on experience repairing diesel vehicles such as engine repair and electrical diagnostics. CDL with passenger endorsement or ability to obtain upon hire. Ability to pass all pre-employment screenings. Ability to stand for up to 8 hours per day and lift up to 50 pounds (with assistance). Salary and Benefits: Pay Range: $23.97 – $28.69 per hour, depending on experience.
