Summary
Manufacturing Quality Engineer will be responsible for ensuring in-process product quality, driving root cause analysis of quality issues, and implementing corrective actions. This role plays a critical part in developing and qualifying robust manufacturing processes that meet customer and regulatory requirements at our Fremont Factory.
Job Repsonsibilities:
In-Process Quality Control:
Collaborate with Production and Engineering to define and maintain critical quality parameters and control limits
Develop and implement in-process inspection standards, control plans, and quality monitoring systems.
Non-Conformance (NC) Handling:
Manage the identification, documentation, and disposition of non-conforming material.
Lead cross-functional teams to evaluate and contain non-conforming products in a timely manner.
Drive data collection and analysis of NC trends to support continuous improvement efforts.
Root Cause Analysis & Corrective Action (RCA/CA):
Lead structured problem-solving activities using tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, and FMEA.
Coordinate cross-functional teams to define root causes and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
Monitor and verify the effectiveness of implemented actions to ensure sustainable improvements.
Process Qualification & Validation:
Develop and execute process qualification plans when introducing new processes or equipment.
Collaborate with Engineering to define quality requirements for new or modified equipment and processes.
Review and approve process validation protocols, reports, and supporting data.
Continuous Improvement & Change Management:
Drive process improvements using Lean, Six Sigma, or other quality methodologies.
Participate in Kaizen events and support quality training programs for production staff.
Participate in Engineering Change Control (ECC) reviews and ensure proper risk assessments and validations are completed.
Provide process specific Technical Training to the technicians as part of CI efforts.
Documentation & Compliance:
Ensure all quality documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with industry standards (ISO 9001 & AS9100).
Support internal and external audits, including customer and regulatory audits.
Maintain records for traceability, calibration, inspection results, and process changes.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering or related field.
3+ years of experience in a manufacturing quality role, preferably in the lithium-ion battery, electronics, or automotive industry.
Strong knowledge of quality systems, root cause analysis, and process control tools.
Experience with Six Sigma Approach with at least a Green Belt.
Experience with SPC, FMEA, control plans, and statistical analysis.
Working knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, or similar quality standards.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, JMP/ Minitab and ERP systems.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
Experience in lithium-ion battery manufacturing or other energy storage technologies.

The Quality Manager shall become familiar with the requirements for the Contractor’s Quality Control services as specified in the Construction Documents and shall observe, monitor and report the activities of the DB Contractor, their Subcontractors and suppliers with respect to those requirements.
During the course of this project there will be many types of inspections which must be performed by the Design-Builder, the Design-Builder’s testing agencies and the Quality Manager. Each category of inspection requires a coordination effort, a level of frequency appropriate for the project, and a report or other documentation.
As the Quality Manager, verify that the construction work is done in conformance with the contract documents and approved submittals. Promptly report to the Contractor, in writing, observed variances from the contract requirements with a copy to the Owner, and advise the Owner if the DB Contractor fails to promptly remove, correct, or replace unacceptable construction work. Assess any resulting delays caused by the Contractor. This work will include:
· Observation of installation of materials and workmanship
· Observation to ensure compliance with applicable codes
· Monitoring labor and safety requirements
· Completing written inspection reports
Monitor Contractor required testing and assure that test results are submitted to the Owner. Review construction contract requirements to identify all tests that are required to be performed by the Contractor and verify the Contractor testing schedule for completeness. Quality Manager responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Verifying that tests are conducted as scheduled
· Witnessing major tests
· Checking test results
· Retaining test records
· Summarizing significant test results in progress reports
· Notifying the Owner of test failures and planning corrective actions

Position Summary
The Process Piping Quality Assurance Quality Control Manager will administer Murray Company’s Quality Program resulting in a team culture that promotes customer satisfaction and exceeds customer expectations by ensuring we deliver all processes per code requirements and Murray Company SOP's. Incumbent will champion continuous improvement efforts, initiate and implement quality improvement activities as appropriate to raise performance, educate/train, mentor and hold employees accountable for their impact in quality. The ideal candidate will have experience with the welding and installation of high purity process piping. This position requires 30%-50% travel between local regional offices and job sites.

Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary quality control resource for problem identification, resolution and own the quality business plan and continuous improvement efforts.
Ensure all QA/QC members enforce timely inspection/audit activities, documentation control and written reports.
Monitor the progress and effectiveness of the project quality system and processes.
Set strategic direction for improvements and own implementations.
Responsible for the preparation and control of project quality system documentation prior to project commencement.
Review quality inspection personnel qualifications and training requirements.
Develop site-specific QA/QC procedures and manage the quality work performed by the company or its subcontractors on-site.
Coordinate all QA/QC activities with the Site QA/QC personnel - includes cost effective management of third-party vendors.
Provide continuous status updates of the regional area to the Corporate QA/QC Manager.

Required
5+ years of experience in a leadership role with relevant quality inspections.
Current or previous certifications as a CWI or ASNT SNT-TC-1A Level II or III in the RT, UT, MT, PT, or VT method with a minimum of 5 years experience.
Minimum 7 – 10 years of experience in a construction-related industry.
Strong leadership capabilities – Must have the ability to effectively manage a group individuals working towards a common goal. Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
