The Legal Aid Society of Hawaiʻi is Hawaiʻi’s oldest and largest non-profit public interest law firm with offices statewide. Through its dedicated staff, Legal Aid helps ensure justice and fairness for all by providing civil legal aid to the most vulnerable in our society. Position: Immigration Law Fellow in the Legal Aid Society of Hawaii’s Immigrant Justice Center. Responsibilities include client representation for immigration, primarily focused on representing victims of crime, domestic violence, or trafficking. The Fellow will also participate community engagement, outreach and education, statewide initiatives, and in day-to-day supervision of non-attorney staff. This position is currently funded through June of 2026, but there may be other opportunities to continue to work with Legal Aid after the end of the fellowship. provided funding is available. Requirements: • Graduate of an ABA accredited law school. • Member in good standing of the Bar of the State of Hawaii are preferred. Applications from qualified individuals licensed to practice and in good standing in another state will be considered. • Practice experience in immigration law preferred and experience immigration remedies for crime and trafficking victims strongly preferred. • Demonstrable commitment to social justice or experience working with disadvantaged and/or low-income population, or issues affecting low-income populations required. • Able to work collaboratively and maintain good working relationships with a diverst team of co-workers. • Able to manage a busy practice, meet deadlines, and perform multiple tasks with attention to detail. • Able to work under pressure in an empathetic and professional manner. • Must demonstrate humility in working with colleagues and clients across the spectrum of diversity, including race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, immigrant status, religious identity, physical and mental disabilities, and/or limited English proficiency • Fluency in writing and speaking a language other than English is preferred, but not required. Compensation: $60,811 - $72,926 commensurate with experience and qualifications. Candidates with extensive family law and litigation experience may be considered for additional compensation and responsibilities.
