orange is for sizing. Smaller is 1 year, little larger is 5 years. These are not the same as sulcata's, please do research. They are slow growing and not as big as a sulcata. prefer a home with tortoise experience. They need year round heat (heat lamp in winter), they should not be left in a yard with dogs or an area with predators such as raccoons. A secure outdoor tortoise pen can easily be built if you are handy. (google) The outdoor pen is nice during a warm sunny day but need protection and heat at night, storm days, cold winter days; especially as youngsters. Nice grassy lawn/weeds/edible flowers is ideal but also sliced nopales (dethorned) and mixed greens in the winter if indoors or grass not available. Only lawns that have Not been treated with chemicals/herbacides/pestacides !! I believe female but not sure. Together or single.
