We are currently looking for a Substation Physical Engineer from 0 to 5 years of experience. Duties Assist with create/modify detailed design for Substation: Control building (relay panels, facilities, cable raceways, trays, etc.) Busbar and strain bus Equipment & support structures Assembly drawings Cables and connectors Lightning protection and lighting Grounding grid Conduit and tranches Perform basic calculations such as: Grounding Lighting and lightning Cable ampacity Tray sizing Trench sizing Conduit sizing Assist project manager to develop scope of work and conceptual design for the projects; Communicate and coordinate project activities with project manager, client, and others as needed; Take personal responsibility for the quality and accuracy of one's work; Requirements A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical or Civil is preferred. 0 to 5 years of experience in Substation Physical design. Willing to pursue PE license in NY and NC. Desired knowledge of Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), NERC, NEC, NESC, NEMA, and ANSI standards used in designing substation is critical. Periodic travel, ability to visit project sites. Must be experienced with the process of producing client drawings and production/fabrication drawings. Must be experienced and proficient in CAD and CAM software, 3D rendering. Experience in creating CNC files required. The ideal candidate should be skilled in drafting decorative patterns, understanding materials and engineering, daily interaction with the production team, intricate millwork and heavily sculpted three-dimensional elements for production, great team working skills requested. General expectation is that this role maintains and preserves the life of all common area equipment, inclusive of both the interior and exterior of the building and complies with all City, County, State, OSHA, and all governmental agency mandates.  WHAT YOU'LL DO  Engineering management of a residential facility; including common areas, amenity space and parking garage. Provide quarterly cost analysis and cost projections for all utilities, chilled water, electrical, gas and on all maintenance items needed, filters, belts, valves, and maintenance equipment. Efficiency analysis and energy savings audits done on a quarterly basis. Create, execute, and maintain an automated preventative maintenance program to include all components of the building.  Implement and maintain all required maintenance SOPs as directed by GM and VP of Risk Management.  Maintain any “green energy” qualifications of the building.  Coordinate, maintain, and keep current all building component inspections.  Supervises full maintenance team and any other departments as assigned by the GM.  Develops training to ensure excellence in job performance.  Building and maintaining strong relationships with outside vendors. Coordinate contracted services and repairs, alongside the GM.  Keeps complete and accurate records of all maintenance requests submitted, commented on, and completed. Must be available for “on-call” after hours, weekends, and holidays and available for emergencies, as needed.  Ensures all safety precautions and procedures are followed while performing assigned duties.   Requirements EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE  High school diploma or equivalent WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED  A minimum of 4 years of engineering experience, preferably in high-rise facilities. Should have a specific knowledge of all high-rise electrical, plumbing, stair pressurization, elevators, and mechanical systems.  Safety systems knowledge Elevator systems knowledge Fire pump and safety system knowledge Trash room / compactor knowledge Some experience with Building Link and Vantaca building management software.  An understanding that condo construction is not complete and will take place over the next several months.  This requires a need to deal with partial occupancy issues that impacts how the building systems are managed and operated.
