OT Systems Engineer

ProArch is an IT services and consulting company with offices in Upstate NY and Atlanta, GA. We have multiple open positions for a Consulting Engineer. ProArch Sales and Consulting staff collaborate with clients to design the best solution to fit their business needs. The Engineering technical staff works to configure, install, secure, and support IT/OT environments of clients of all sizes. As a member of the team, you will be expected to be able to assess and design, as well as implement and secure technology with guidance provided by the Industry Solutions Program Manager. A Systems Engineer is a client-focused position with a highly technical skill set that includes Microsoft, VMware, Storage, Networking, cloud architecture, and deployment knowledge. You should be able to understand client business processes and be able to align those with technological, strategic goals and objectives. Technology Expertise The successful candidate should have extensive expertise in Enterprise technologies, and an overall understanding of Enterprise on-premises, hybrid, and cloud infrastructure components that make up customer environments. • Planning, migration, implementation, and management of Windows Server environments including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, File Services\DFS, IIS, and Group Policy Objects\Hardening • Planning, implementation, and management of Microsoft Hyper-V and/or VMware vSphere environments • Planning, implementation, and management of Microsoft Azure Infrastructure as a Services (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Virtual Networking solutions • Planning, and implement of Microsoft Office 365 E-mail, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive • Planning and implement of end-user virtual solutions including Remote Desktop Services (RDS), Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), and VMware Horizon View • Implementation and management of backup technologies that are image and file based. Disaster Recovery and replication technologies such as Veeam Enterprise, VMware Site Recovery Manager, or Azure Site Recovery • Implementation and administration of Microsoft Enterprise Management Tools such as Intune • Implementation and administration of Enterprise Storage include DELL/EMC, HP, Microsoft, and VMware Software Defined Storage • A high level understanding of Switch, Routing, Wireless, and Firewall networking including Cisco, HP, Meraki, SonicWALL, and Barracuda The ideal candidate must have experience with: • Performing strategic technology assessments including data gathering, analysis, and recommendations in an Energy setting • Aligning organization technology goals with business requirements • Troubleshooting network and system issues • Security best practices system hardening • Experience in Incident Response • Collaborating with clients in different vertical markets • Interfacing with other 3rd party vendors, i.e., hardware, software, and service providers • Working individually and as part of a team • Interfacing with clients remotely, over the phone, and on-site • Developing product and solution recommendations for deliverables and presales opportunities • Budgeting and time estimation The ideal candidate preferred experience: • Experience 3 years+ servicing manufacturing, power generation or a similar industry • Knowledge and experience providing OT (Operational Technology) security and support solutions for automation and control technologies and systems – examples include Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), SCADA systems • Ability to create confidence in environments where system discovery and gap analysis is required and may not be fully understood by clients. Provide solutions to these systems utilizing staged improvements to create insights, resilient and stable Operational Technology systems • Strong problem-solving and communication skills with first time engagements – Projects, Industrial Control Systems, or problems tend to be unique, so critical thinking skills and the ability to communicate across multiple disciplines are essential. • Ability to communicate complex IT/OT network systems and dataflows to stakeholders and provide analysis of risks, requirements, and responsibilities for deployment of new solutions or upgrades • In-depth knowledge of OSI Model and the ability to configure production systems at one or more layers. Application, Network, Session level maintaining least privilege and limiting end-user and production impacts – this includes LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, and more • Understanding of unique protocols to Industrial Controls, Modbus, DNP3, others Requirements Education and Certification Requirements: • Experience 10 years+ or associate's degree or better • Certifications: Microsoft, VMware, storage, and networking • A verbal and written technical assessment is given to potential candidates that must be passed Requirements for Systems Engineer: • Clean valid U.S. Issued Driver’s License • Willingness to travel up to 50% of time, coordinated with personal availability • Contact point for escalation regarding Energy projects and support • Supports ProArch’s Industry Solutions Manager with tasks related to the Energy business unit. • Proven collaborator • Mentoring, education, and technical oversight related to projects and new technologies to internal staff and customers • Divergent thinker that can provide creative and resourceful input to problems • Takes ownership of project, tasks, and client deliverables • Motivated, thorough, innovative, accurate, and articulate • Ability to prioritize effectively and handle shifting priorities professionally • Exemplary written and verbal communication skills • Produce project documentation in a concise and clear manner • Proven presentation preparation and delivery skills to a diverse audience from C-suite to end users • Maintain expertise in relevant solutions, products, and services • Broad base of knowledge of the IT services industry and trends • Analysis and identify best practice gaps • Collaborate with Sales Management to: o Identify sales opportunities o Up-sell and cross-sell client o Proposal development o Close deals • Collaborate with ProArch’s Security team to harden and make recommendations to customers • Provide daily time accounting and monthly expense report submittal • Maintaining of professional certifications and obtaining new certifications Benefits
