We’re building a band to bring his music to life on stage — tight, soulful, and expressive. We’re looking for musicians who groove, who listen deeply, and who understand the power of restraint and feel. If you're about that life — we want you. The Mission: This isn’t a jam band. This is about serving the music and the artist's vision, creating a dynamic live show that translates emotion and energy to the audience. We’ll be rehearsing to bring the songs to life in a way the singer envisions. Looking for: • Drums – pocket-driven, can play simply and tastefully when it's time to open up • Bass – locked-in and melodic, understands space • Keys – jazz, pop/dark pop, gospel, and/or neo-soul influence a plus • Guitar – clean tone mastery, chord voicings, rhythm and ambient textures • Aux players (BGVs, horns, etc.) – if you bring something special, reach out Influences / Vibes: Think Daniel Caesar, Frank Ocean, Mac Ayres, Willow, with live elements that pull from classic R&B, Neo-soul, and jazz foundations. Location: Bay Area – rehearsals will be centered in/around Oakland/Berkeley or SF depending on where most of us are located. Who You Are: • Reliable, communicative, and down to collaborate • Respectful of a band dynamic where the artist leads creatively, and the band supports that vision with their mastery of their instruments • Open to direction and arrangement ideas from the MD and Artist • Flexibility in rehearsal flows - able to adjust between 1) learning parts on your own and coming to rehearsal ready, and 2) creating/exploring arrangements together in focused rehearsals If this sounds like your kind of project, reach out with your instrument, a little about your experience, and any links you have (IG, live vids, etc.). Let’s build something meaningful and real. — Music Director
