EXPERT DRUM LESSONS Drum Set, Rudiments, Marching Percussion (Thornton)

I have 47 years playing experience and 33 years teaching experience. Very methodical approach formulated through years of experience. Great for beginners, intermediate, or self taught players. I teach with a strong emphasis on fundamentals and technique. I'm a firm believer in establishing good habits and avoiding bad ones. I also like to explore how rhythm and time keeping can be approached and conceived of mentally. A combination of organic and analytical approach, looking at things from both the feel and mathematical side of things. Specializing In: DRUM SET: Beginner to Advanced: Pop, Rock, Progressive Rock, Metal, Progressive Metal, Funk, Country, Beginner Jazz. Emphasis placed on time keeping and our internal clocks. Past students have gone on to be professional gigging/touring musicians as well as attend schools such as U.N.T. and the Berklee College of Music. MARCHING PERCUSSION: Beginner to Advanced (DCI Top 12 Level) Snare / Multi-Tom / Bass Drum lines under my tutelage have won over fifteen state championships as well as a WGI World Class Championship. Past students have gone on to perform with the premiere marching ensembles: Santa Clara Vanguard, Blue Coats, Blue Devils, Blue Knights, Phantom Regiment, Broken City, Mystique, R.C.C., Rhythm X… Development of technique, time keeping, vocabulary, dynamics, odd time signatures, reading skills, groove/feel, how to conceive of and create parts are all explored. 45 Minute Lessons = $42 / Hour Lessons = $50 I will travel to you and your drums!
