I just came up with how I'd like to have the back of my short bus painted, but maybe with your experience this could be done with vinyl instead. It's a 2009 Chevy Express van with a 5-window metal Thomas body on it. It's just under 9 feet tall in total - not too big. I have to remove the school bus flashing/stopping lights to get it inspected. I want to replace the four flashers up top on the back with two speakers (inner positions, some color on them) and two small subwoofers (outer positions). I can remove those little awnings over the lights as well so it's not such an unusual surface. I'd like someone to paint a bit of black around the speakers and paint a band across the top to make it look like the two speakers on the left and two speakers on the right make up the left and right of a pair of headphones, and then paint some kind of being which covers most of the back of the bus, and it's wearing the headphones. It can be a little trippy, but doesn't have to be. There's a switch in the bus that disables the three lights in the middle. I can also get you a better, straight on photo if you're interested. With the three windows up top and mount-shaped one at the bottom, I was thinking maybe the three on the top would be the dilated pupils of a three-eyed alien that's got its mouth open, kinda tripping out to the music. That's just what comes to my mind, but I'm not an artist. I'm open to suggestions. I'm a big dog person and have a rescue pit bull so, if you see a dog wearing headphones when you look at this, that would also be cool. We could do some custom vinyl on the windows if necessary, but that's only if you're experienced with doing that. I'd prefer to keep them stock/tinted. Note, there is a Thomas branding badge that was sprayed over by the guy that painted it. That could be a little face tattoo under the eye to represent the brand of the metal bus body, or could just be painted over again. Attached is my terrible mock-up. My buddy said it's a mushroom headed alien, so maybe just a mushroom character would be a good choice. As far as art styles go, I don't like caricature art, or abstract, I like pretty proportional and somewhat realistic looking art style. Something like Banksy's style would be best case, but anything with impressive detail is cool. I do like graffiti art as long as the details are there and thing's aren't unnecessarily bulging or slanted. If you can paint an expression in an eye, or animal fir, or even a personable looking Nintendo character, you're someone I want to talk to. I'd like to use Rustoleum if possible, because that's what is currently on there. The dealer tells me it's a mix of Glossy White, and Smoke Gray, sold in quarts and sprayed. If you work best with a rattle can, that's fine, but I do prefer it be Rustoleum so it's a little more weather resistant. I don't want to commit the money to automotive paint for it because then I'd have to sand blast and repaint the whole thing. Let me know your thoughts, and estimated pricing. If this interests you, I've got a bigger Blue Bird 9-window full bus chassis that we can chat about doing a whole body job on. I want that one vintage video game themed, with old school game characters on the sides, and a space invaders style scene on either the front or back. Right now it's black, and flat, and awesome. Thanks
