Fitter – ASME Pressure Vessels (Humble)

Fitter – ASME Pressure Vessels Location: Houston, TX | Full-Time Gulf Coast Alloy Welding is seeking an experienced Fitter with a strong background in the fabrication of ASME pressure vessels. This position is responsible for the precise layout and fitting of components including shells, heads, nozzles, clips, and other pressure-retaining parts, in accordance with ASME Code requirements. Key Responsibilities: - Fit and tack large pressure vessels up to 15' in diameter - Accurately lay out components based on drawings and fabrication specs - Interpret blueprints, weld maps, and cut sheets - Use measuring tools (tape measure, squares, levels, etc.) to verify tolerances - Work safely around overhead cranes and rigging operations - Collaborate with welders, inspectors, and shop supervisors to ensure quality and schedule compliance Requirements: - Minimum 3 years of experience fitting ASME pressure vessels or similar heavy industrial equipment - Strong knowledge of ASME Section VIII, Division 1 fabrication practices - Ability to work with minimal supervision on large-diameter vessels - Comfortable working with carbon and alloy steel materials - Familiar with shop safety protocols, including crane signals and hot work safety
