Scout’s Network Engineer will lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of the network infrastructure supporting our renewable energy power plants, remote operations center, and corporate office. This role requires technical expertise in multiprotocol networks, multilayer switches, next-generation firewalls, and central management systems.   Our network environment consists of Palo Alto, Fortinet, and Cisco networking devices, with WAN connectivity via IPSec tunnels and SD-WAN solutions. The ideal candidate will leverage automation and monitoring tools to maintain high availability and ensure SLAs are met. They should also be comfortable navigating change management processes and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust network solutions.  The Network Engineer will report to the Senior Manager, Information Technology and Cybersecurity.   Key Responsibilities  Oversee and maintain enterprise network infrastructure, including Palo Alto, Fortinet, and Cisco devices. Configure and maintain the Azure network infrastructure.  Optimize LAN/WAN architecture, firewall security, and data systems performance for scalability and efficiency.  Implement network monitoring and management systems to achieve high availability and minimal downtime.  Install, configure, and manage firewalls, switches, and other network devices.  Automate routine networking tasks to improve efficiency and reliability.  Apply network security best practices to align with business requirements.  Conduct performance tests, analyze network integrity, and generate reports.  Develop and implement network disaster recovery plans.  Troubleshoot and resolve escalated network support issues.  Maintain comprehensive technical documentation.  Collaborate with business partners to provide network engineering support.  Manage multiple projects, ensuring timely delivery within set deadlines.    Other Responsibilities  SIEM management: Collaborates with IT teams to configure and maintain the SIEM platform to meet security monitoring and incident response requirements. Performs ongoing optimization, performance tuning, and capacity planning for the SIEM environment to ensure efficient log collection, analysis, and alerting    Vulnerability management: Utilizes vulnerability scanning tools to identify and report on security weaknesses. Collaborates with IT teams to communicate vulnerability findings and facilitate the implementation of remediation plans. Ensures the reliability and recoverability of critical systems through the management of backup solutions and the execution of regular disaster recovery testing procedures.  Requirements Required Qualifications  4+ years of enterprise networking experience.  Expertise in network switching and firewall technologies.  Strong experience with WAN solutions and communication protocols.  Proficiency with network monitoring and analysis tools.  Hands-on experience with cloud networking solutions.  Must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future.    Preferred Qualifications  CCNP Certification  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.  Certifications in Palo Alto, or Cisco (or equivalent training).  Experience with Cisco or SEL or other OT switches.  Strong background in Palo Alto firewall administration.  Proven track record implementing WAN solutions (DIA, MPLS, SD-WAN, etc.).  Familiarity with BGP, EIGRP, and OSPF routing protocols.  Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., PRTG, SolarWinds).  Hands-on knowledge of Azure cloud networking.  Understanding of NERC-CIP requirements.  Organizational Fit:  Strong project management, process development, and team-building skills.
