Job Title: Lead Operator / Shift Supervisor – Power Plant Operations Location: Bridgeport, CT, United States Pay: $56–$61/hour + 10% target bonus Schedule: DuPont rotating shift (12-hour shifts) Overview: We have two Lead Operator openings (also known as Shift Supervisors) for a unionized power generation facility. This leadership role manages day-to-day operations, directs a team of Plant Operators, and ensures safety, environmental compliance, and optimal plant performance. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you’ll play a key role in meeting revenue, safety, and reliability goals. Key Responsibilities: Lead and coach Plant Operators to deliver optimal megawatt output safely and in full compliance with regulations. Oversee daily plant operations, set maintenance priorities, and ensure equipment operates within OEM and regulatory standards. Monitor operational data (PI, logs, chemistry testing) to drive efficiency and performance. Respond to abnormal or emergency conditions, initiating corrective actions per plant protocols. Manage operator training programs and maintain operations manuals and SOPs. Support environmental compliance, maintain QA/QC manuals, and report incidents or near-misses promptly. Collaborate with Maintenance to identify equipment issues and plan repairs. Track and order operating supplies such as chemicals, gases, and lubricants. Assist in hiring, onboarding, and performance management of operations staff. Foster a positive work culture, addressing employee concerns professionally. Requirements Qualifications: 5+ years of power plant or equivalent industrial experience; 3+ years in combined cycle operations preferred. Prior leadership experience supervising craft employees in a union environment highly desirable. Bachelor’s or Associate degree in a technical field preferred. Experience with gas turbine operations is a strong plus. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel; knowledge of PI and Red Tag Pro preferred. Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills. Able to work 12-hour rotating shifts, overtime, and be on-call as needed. Capable of working in outdoor/industrial conditions, climbing ladders, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Must hold a valid driver’s license and be authorized to work in the U.S. Must pass post-offer physical and drug screening. Proven experience running POCs, evaluating data quality and data platform tools. Demonstrated interest and experience in low-level data reliability, correctness, and observability. Familiarity with systems-level thinking and the principles of data operations in production. Background in high-performance computing or real-time data processing is a plus. Job Title: Maintenance Technician – Power Plant Position Summary: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing all mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation/control systems at a power plant and steam distribution facility. This includes troubleshooting, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, installing and calibrating equipment, and supporting plant operations to ensure safety, reliability, and environmental compliance. This role reports to the Maintenance Manager and works within the policies, procedures, and limits established by plant management. Key Responsibilities: Maintenance & Repair Diagnose and repair malfunctions in plant-wide electrical systems, instrumentation, controls, and mechanical systems. Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on plant systems, including Siemens T3000 hardware/software. Calibrate and maintain analyzers, meters, gauges, and other instrumentation; ensure systems operate within prescribed parameters. Conduct inspections, testing, and troubleshooting to identify potential equipment failures and optimize plant performance. Install, repair, and modify plant systems and equipment as directed. Operate plant equipment such as trucks, cranes, forklifts, and aerial lifts as needed. Operations Support Provide technical guidance to plant staff on mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems. Technical Skills Proficient in reading and interpreting P&IDs, blueprints, and logic diagrams. Skilled in repair, maintenance, and installation of power plant equipment. Experience with electrical test equipment, calibration, and instrumentation systems. Proficiency in CMMS (Maximo preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite. Certified forklift and elevated work platform operator; able to perform scaffold inspections. Local Baltimore County company is looking for a survey field technician/trainee; experience is helpful but not required. This is an outdoor position and does require walking over uneven terrain, carrying equipment up to 50 pounds, have at least a GED, reliable transportation (6:45AM Start Time), teachable & trustworthy, with good communication skills.
