Job description: Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Over the Road Commercial Driver's License A Truck Driver to join our team. This role involves long-distance driving, transporting goods across various states while ensuring timely and safe delivery. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to handle different types of freight. Duties Operate tractor-trailer units for long-haul deliveries across designated routes. Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment, including forklifts when necessary. Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations regarding commercial driving. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle inspections, and maintenance records. Safely operate various types of trailers including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety standards are met. Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding route changes or delays. Adhere to delivery schedules while maintaining a focus on safety and efficiency. Qualifications Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A is required. Proven experience in truck driving with a strong understanding of route driving principles. Familiarity with manual transmission vehicles is preferred. Experience with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and other specialized equipment is a plus. Ability to handle freight loading and unloading efficiently and safely. Strong attention to detail in maintaining logs and adhering to regulations. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with dispatch and clients. Previous delivery driver experience is advantageous.
