Position: Entry-Level General Construction Laborer Location: San Diego, CA Employment Type: Full-Time Salary: $20 - $23 per hour Reports To: Site Supervisor/Foreman Job Summary The Entry-Level General Laborer will perform a variety of tasks to support construction projects under the direction of experienced crew members. This role is ideal for someone eager to learn the construction trade, develop hands-on skills, and grow within a supportive, family-oriented company. No prior experience is required, but a strong work ethic and willingness to learn are essential. Key Responsibilities -Site Preparation and Cleanup: Assist in preparing construction sites by clearing debris, setting up materials, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. -Material Handling: Load, unload, and transport construction materials, tools, and equipment to and from work areas. -Assisting Skilled Trades: Support carpenters, masons, and other skilled workers by providing tools, materials, and basic assistance as directed. -Basic Construction Tasks: Perform tasks such as assisting with demolition or basic framing under supervision. -Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols, wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and report any safety concerns to the supervisor. -Equipment Maintenance: Clean and maintain tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition. -Team Collaboration: Work closely with team members to complete tasks efficiently and contribute to a positive work environment. Qualifications and Skills -Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required. -Experience: No prior construction experience necessary; on-the-job training will be provided. -Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions. Skills and Attributes: -Strong work ethic and willingness to learn. -Reliable, punctual, and committed to teamwork. -Basic understanding of construction tools and processes is a plus but not required. -Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively. Requirements: -Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. -Must be at least 18 years of age. -Ability to pass a background check and drug screening. Tasks & Duties: This position combines elements of business management, office management, customer service, and leasing. Often, duties can be performed remotely via phone and computer. Some on-site presence is required. Tasks and duties will include: -First and foremost, effective communication with and between prospective and current members (our “tenants”), owner, maintenance staff, vendors, and the general public via email, phone, text, and in-person meetings as needed. Meet with prospective members to introduce them to our company, tour locations, and answer questions. -Register new members using our online tools and systems, including Google Docs, Sheets, and Calendar; CalendarWiz; SignNow; and Weebly. -Orient new members to company rules, guidelines, and procedures, and ensure that all members follow these. -Track company finances (Google Sheets); collect and process receipts; pay bills (Chase platform). -Update and maintain the company website (Weebly platform). -Oversee maintenance personnel. -Oversee repairs, decor changes, and improvements. -Maintain online calendars (Google Calendar and CalendarWiz). -Respond to members’ questions, requests, and complaints. -Track, order, maintain, and distribute office supplies. -Troubleshoot occasional problems with company equipment (computers, printers, audio equipment, motion sensors, smart locks, security cameras, etc.). -Write business communications. -Maintain online files (Google Drive, Sheets, Docs). -Be available after hours for emergencies and urgent issues (uncommon). -Perform other duties as needed. Must have a reliable vehicle, computer, Internet Access, and a smartphone. Hours are flexible and can be negotiated. Approximately 20 hours per week.
