Please read fully before reaching out. I am looking for a very specific type of home for my dog. She is not a good fit for first-time owners. She is: • Female, young adult, spayed • Crate trained • Not fully house trained yet • Does well with my small chihuahua (she’s known since puppyhood) but not good with other dogs • Very nervous and reactive around new people (barks a lot when she’s scared) • With slow introductions, she has done okay for a pet sitter in my home What she needs: • An experienced, patient owner who understands reactive dogs • A calm, structured home (no small kids, no other pets besides possibly a small calm dog she can be slowly introduced to) • Someone willing to continue crate training, house training, and help her build confidence • Someone who won’t give up on her if she takes time to settle in She is not aggressive with her family — she just struggles with strangers and other dogs. I will be completely honest about her behavior and routine with anyone seriously interested. If you have experience with reactive or anxious dogs and can provide a safe, stable home, please tell me about yourself: • Who lives in your home • Any other pets • Your experience with dogs like her • If you rent, whether your landlord allows dogs There is no rehoming fee, but I will be screening carefully to make sure she goes to the right home. Thank you for understanding — she really deserves someone who “gets” her.
