Earthshine Lodge is a small lodge and retreat center (11 rooms) in Lake Toxaway, NC. We are looking for a part-time cleaner, with the number of hours per week depending on the needs of the lodge and fluctuating seasonally. At Earthshine, rooms are only turned over after a guest leaves (there is no daily room cleaning). This position reports to the Managing Director and works collaboratively with the Earthshine Lodge team to provide a clean, comfortable and welcoming experience for all guests. Salary based on experience, plus guest gratuities. Earthshine is a NC Living Wage Employer. - Turn over days are traditionally Sunday afternoon or Tuesday and again on Friday mornings. - Cleaning and disinfecting lodge rooms, guest cottages and common areas. - Changing linens, towels, bedding, etc. as needed. - Keeping the main areas of the lodge and cottage clean and sanitized. - Removing trash and recycling from guest rooms and cottages.

This person will perform the usual gardening tasks, including pruning, weeding, cutting back and blowing off. An appreciation of and desire to learn about horticulture is helpful. Other skills include an ability to operate industry equipment and hand tools, a positive attitude, and transportation to and from our Richmond City shop each day. Ideally, this person will complete our (optional) Master Gardener Training: - train with our boxwood expert to learn and master the art of pruning, shaping, and thinning. - learn about organic fertilization requirements, including when and how to fertilize based on individual needs. - train in organic pesticide application, receiving company-paid certification. - master mid-level plant identification for zone 7 - in other words, learn the names of the plants you see every day. Upon successful completion of our Master Gardener Training, this person will move to the next pay tier.
