What You'll Do: As a Low Voltage Security Technician, your day will start at our office where you'll get your assignments, pick up your work vehicle and supplies, and head out to diverse projects across the Bay Area (traveling 1 to 90 miles daily). Your responsibilities will include: - Installing, terminating, and testing low-voltage cabling (Cat5e/6, coaxial). - Installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and repairing cutting-edge security, access control, and CCTV systems. - Reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams. - Addressing issues with alarms, cameras, and card access systems. - Performing installations, maintenance, troubleshooting, new integrations, and decommissions. - Completing detailed work orders for each project, documenting work performed, parts used, and securing customer signatures. What We're Looking For: - A drive to learn: Paid training is provided, and a low voltage, electrical, or mechanical background is a plus, but not required! - Proficient with Basic Power Tool Use - Problem-solving: Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills are essential. - Team player & self-starter: You'll need to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, managing your time efficiently. - Excellent communicator: Strong communication and customer service skills are a must. - Satisfactory Driving Record: A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required, and you must be insurable by general commercial auto insurances to drive company vehicle. Your Growth Path (Tier Goals): We believe in investing in our team's growth! You'll have clear opportunities to advance your skills and earning potential: Tier 1 (Trainee) - $22/hour: Within your first month, you will be capable of handling certain calls unsupervised and proficient with basic power tool use. Tier 2 - $25/hour: You should be able to install alarm devices (motions, strobes), run wires for cameras and alarms, perform CAT 5 connections, and set IPs for IP camera installation. Tier 3 - $27/hour: Programming panels, adding wireless devices, installing card readers and electrified locks, programming IP cameras into recorders. We also offer cross-training in skills like drilling safe deposit locks, changing safe combinations, repinning basic lock cylinders, furniture lock repair and cutting/copying keys.
