Garden Care Specialist (Richmond, VA)
We're seeking an experienced garden care specialist for our residential garden care company.
This person will perform the usual gardening tasks, including pruning, weeding, cutting back and blowing off. An appreciation of and desire to learn about horticulture is helpful. Other skills include an ability to operate industry equipment and hand tools, a positive attitude, and transportation to and from our Richmond City shop each day.
Ideally, this person will complete our (optional) Master Gardener Training:
- train with our boxwood expert to learn and master the art of pruning, shaping, and thinning.
- learn about organic fertilization requirements, including when and how to fertilize based on individual needs.
- train in organic pesticide application, receiving company-paid certification.
- master mid-level plant identification for zone 7 - in other words, learn the names of the plants you see every day.
Upon successful completion of our Master Gardener Training, this person will move to the next pay tier.
